Denman & Sons, a family run independent builders merchant based in Caerphilly, has been acquired by LBS Group, the largest independent builders' merchants in South Wales, in a transaction advised on by GS Verde Group.

Since its establishment in 1986, Denman & Sons has provided valuable service to its customers across Caerphilly, Blackwood, Newport and Cardiff with staff delivering their expertise in hardware, paints and glass. The company offer a huge variety of services including paving, drainage, fencing, insulation, painting and decorating, and tiling.

Founded in 1931, LBS is the largest and leading independent builders' merchants in South Wales. With more than 35 branches, the Group includes the brands LBS Builders' Merchants, LBS Kitchens & Bathrooms, LBS Renewables, Total Plumbing, and Talbot Timber, with the addition of Denman & Sons bringing the Group up to 10 brands and over 500 expert staff.

The transaction will see LBS take over Denman's site located in Pengam, retaining all staff, but with plans to transform the branch and truly enhance the already excellent offering to customers new and current. The move will create new and exciting opportunities for growth in the area.
